Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides excellent services for the diagnosis, treatment and care of a wide range of cancer types.

The Trust provides a holistic service for cancer patients which includes surgery, active monitoring, oncology/haematology chemotherapy, information and advice, complementary therapies and palliative care.

The high quality of the cancer services provided at Milton Keynes University Hospital has been recognised by a number of different independent organisations. The Macmillan Haematology and Oncology Unit was amongst the first hospitals in the country to be awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark in 2009. In May 2011, Milton Keynes became the first hospital in the country to have all senior nurses specialising in cancer and palliative care to have achieved Macmillan status in recognition of the very best care and support they provide. 

These pages are designed to help patients and their families who are being treated at Milton Keynes University Hospital, or who have been referred to the hospital from their GP with  suspected cancer, to understand what happens at each stage of treatment.

The unit also contains the Macmillan Information and Support Centre which operates a drop-in service and also appointments with the Unit's Macmillan Information and Support Nurse who can provide one-to-one support to anyone affected by cancer at any stage.
