Sainsbury's helps us to make a big difference to Little Lives!

LaunchcopyWe are delighted to announce our latest charity of the year partnership - with Sainsbury’s in Central Milton Keynes.

Staff and customers were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite cause, and following a unanimous vote, our Little Lives Appeal, which raises money for the neonatal unit, was chosen!

Sainsbury’s Charity & PR Ambassador Natalie Doyle said: “We’re really happy to be supporting Little Lives this year. It is a cause that means a lot to many of our staff and we are delighted to be able to make a difference. We've funded new equipment for Milton Keynes Hospital Eye Clinic

Photo 1From this month, young patients coming into Milton Keynes Hospital can benefit from a great addition to the eye clinic in the form of the iCare® tonometer.

The iCare® tonometer painlessly measures high pressure in the eyes of children (a possible symptom of glaucoma), rather than having them undergo a needless and more invasive procedure under general anaesthetic.

It can also be used for older patients who may get nervous or distressed during invasive procedures, such as people with dementia.

This piece of equipment was made possible thanks to hospital staff member James Cooney, who is passionate about making a difference to wards and departments around the hospital by fundraising for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.

We are going green!

DSC 3114 CopyWe are delighted to be named as a beneficiary of a brand new green initiative launching on July 15.

The new Recycle and Reward project, set up by Milton Keynes Council, encourages residents to play an interactive online game and raise money for charity at the same time.

The game has been launched in a bid to increase the amount of recycling and green bin use across Milton Keynes, and decrease the amount of black sack waste.

Residents can play this simple game which take just a few minutes to complete, and select which charity they wish to support. A donation of £1 is automatically made to that charity.
