Giffgaff money hosted their special Money Fit Challenge on the 22nd of July, which gave runners a chance to win cash for charity. Hosted at Shoreditch Park, the 5K fun run was held for bloggers and giffgaff money members in the London area and included an inflatable obstacle course.
After the run, eight participants were randomly selected to take part in a special bucking bronco challenge. The top three performers won donations of £1,000, £500 and £250 to their chosen charities.
Katie Tucker was the winner of the £500 donation, which will be made to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity:
“I loved the event from start to finish. From being welcomed by the giffgaff money team with big smiles, to taking part in the fun but challenging obstacle course, and having a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people, while raising money for charity. I'm so glad I came along and had such a great time. A very memorable morning!
“I have chosen the Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, as someone from my running club is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and we are raising funds and awareness for the great work they do. I'm so pleased I am able to support this local charity and very thankful to giffgaff money for such a generous donation.”
Nicola Vidal, Head of Commerce at giffgaff money, who also ran in the event, was excited to speak about its success:
“It was great to have so many people come together and put themselves through their paces for a good cause. We had some fantastic times from our fun run and even had a few first-time runners who may have caught the fitness bug thanks to our event.
“We’re thrilled to give people an opportunity to help make a difference with a charity donation, and it was wonderful to see people on board for a little physical fitness as well!”
