Dr John Northfield graduated from St. George’s Hospital Medical School in 1997. He completed a Wellcome Trust fellowship in 2003 and obtained a DPhil (Oxford) in 2007 in T-cell Immunology. He worked for a period of time in the pharmaceutical industry specialising in antibiotics. He completed specialty training in General Internal Medicine and obtained his first Consultant Post at Milton Keynes in 2013.
Dr Northfield is now College Tutor for Medicine. He has helped develop care for the most unwell ward based patients (the Level 1 Pathway). He maintains an interest in infectious diseases and pharmaceutical medicine. He is an investigator for a multi-centre study evaluating the role of CT coronary angiogram in management of new onset chest pain.
